Hepburn Springs Retreat
The brief was to create a commercially viable “weekend retreat” for couples only, in Hepburn Springs, in the heart of Victoria’s spa country. In order to attract a different market, the client wanted a striking, contemporary building to capture people’s imagination and create a particular market niche. The result is a wonderful and purposeful design which has exceeded expectations and raised the bar in this specialised field of accommodation. By combining exciting shapes with a wide palette of exotic materials and a certain “tongue-in-cheek” approach to this design, the fun-factor has been ensured for all to enjoy. This wonderful pavilion design features exciting shapes, extensive use of glass, and a wide palette of exotic materials. This unique building on a steel frame seems to float above the undulating terrain. Its soaring skillion roofline is juxtaposed in harmony with the landfall.
