The brief was to design a shop with a modern, funky, retro feel. It needed to include two photographic studios, a staff kitchenette and a store room….all to a tight budget. The main shop displays a folio of photos and enables clients to become more involved in the post-production and workflow results of their shoots. The clients wanted the store to display options such as studio photography, digital retouching, frames and albums, custom framing and canvas printing.
This design has effectively used the available, limited, space to create both a photographic studio and retail space. Each space has been successfully designed and linked to each other, evoking a sense of professionalism on which the client will ultimately capitalise. The point-of-sale counter has met the client’s requirements, and the use of graphic elements as part of the overall design has been executed with great affect. This adds an overall sense of sophistication.
