Hickory Office Fitout
Tony Miller, Archiphoto
The client – a building firm – wanted their office fitout designed to present a public face for them that reflected their business philosophies, alongside the launch of their new corporate logo. The funky, retro forms of this interior are tempered by clever use of solid and transparent colour. An unusual palette of stong, transparent colour used sparingly on full height glass partitioning offsets the cool colours of the three dimensional elements, which carry the corporate identity around the walls of the public spaces. The result, while seemingly restrained, is striking and innovative. Expressive glazing on the walls of the directors’ offices feature coloured panels, providing visual articulation along the z axis. The resultant design acts as a showcase for the clients’ innovation, technical skill and craftsmanship as contributory builders in Melbourne’s built environment.
