Kew House 3

A contemporary residence on a site with overlooking developments, Kew House 3 uses glass innovatively from the exterior and within the interiors to bathe its open planned living and entertainment areas with an abundance of light, also providing ultimate privacy for its occupants.

From its exterior view the timber façade frames the expansive picture window to the front entry of the house to invite curiosity without compromising privacy. To the rear of the house, the extensive use of glass has a lightweight translucency that encourages viewing of the pool and landscaped areas while offering controlled solar access and privacy. Glass pool fencing and glass balustrade to stairs and decking guide and define allowing the landscape and architectural forms to feature.

The layering of mediums of glass has been creatively used in the study/library, exploiting the product's translucent and reflective qualities. Commencing with the entry door finished in translucent glass with its sleek custom-blade handle that leads you to the day bed which butts into the base of a clear glass window, and parallel to this the wall above the desk features colourback glass, subtly reflecting the tree lined landscape.

The kitchen and living areas offer windows and doors with full height and clerestory style glazing and colourback glass splashbacks. Bathrooms and ensuites combine clear and translucent glass shower screens to provide privacy where it is required.

Kew House 3 demonstrates the Designers' expertise to creatively apply and innovatively use glass to enhance the design of this residence.
