BDAV Contract Administration Workshop

The BDAV is repeating our Contract Administration workshop on 10 July 2017. When last held, this course filled in four days. This excellent BDAV program assists building designers to develop the knowledge and skills to manage and administer standard form building contracts and to develop administrative and reporting systems to manage a building contract on behalf of a client. It is also invaluable for those building designers seeking registration as a building practitioner in Victoria and contributes to satisfying the contract administration experience criteria required for registration as a Building Designer - Architectural. CPD Webinar, 17 July 2017 : Windows - the Soul of the Home

New research reveals that comfort is the leading driver and motivator for home owners. They want their home filled with natural light. They want it to be naturally cool in summer and warm in winter and they are willing to pay more for this. Join us at this webinar when Samantha Anderson from Viridian will talk about how natural light impacts a living space; how glass can add to the comfort of a home; and why energy efficient or ‘green homes’ are not valued by the majority but comfort is.

'Frank Lloyd Wright' Study Tour, USA, late September 2017

The BDAV - in association with Impact Events - is co-ordinating an overseas study tour to New York and Chicago from 24 September to 3 October 2017, to time with a unique exhibition of Frank Lloyd Wright's work. Marking the 150th anniversary of the celebrated American architect's birth on 8 Jun 1867, MoMA in New York is presenting Frank Lloyd Wright at 150: Unpacking the Archive, a major exhibition running from 12 June to 1 October 2017 that critically engages his multi-faceted practice. The exhibition comprises approximately 450 works made from the 1890s through to the 1950s, including architectural drawings, models, building fragments, films, television broadcasts, print media, furniture, tableware, textiles, paintings, photographs, and scrapbooks, along with a number of works that have rarely or never been publicly exhibited. Our tour will coincide with this 'once in a lifetime event. The last time MoMA exhibited most of Frank Lloyd Wright's drawings, models, etc, was before he passed away.
